The 20°C value in the middle of December is interpreted as an early indicator of a summer with favorable conditions for bathing in Punta Mogotes and the southern Mar del Plata beaches.
For tourism operators and beach concessionaires, an increase in sea temperature is usually associated with longer tourist stays on the beach and a better experience for those who choose the area as their main rest point during the season.
